Just because it looks the same doesn't mean that it works the same. This is very true with many DPF and SCR system tests. The longer you have that old version, the worse it gets. Quite a few changes is the way many diagnostic tests are run and there are a few new tests and logging features that you don't have. These 'bug fixes' are pretty important for good diagnostics. You are grossly simplifying the differences. There's plenty of other forums to talk about that. This isn't a place to discuss tuning, so I'm done talking about Calterm. Instite updates calibrations the exact some way that Calterm does.
You don't need an Incal subscription to update current calibrations to the newest version. We're not talking about modifying calibrations, or even changing to a different one. As far as updating calibrations, Calterm does the EXACT same thing as Insite, it loads a factory calibration to the ECM. Cummins are the only ones who are supposed to use it.
Click to expand.Calterm is even used my Cummins employees? Well, it's engineering level software that was never intended to be used by the general public anyway.
